Wood burning stoves and fireplaces across Boston Spa and the Wharfe villages.
Installation in Boston Spa
Boston Spa is an affluent Georgian spa village on the River Wharfe, full of characterful stone houses and larger family homes along its handsome High Street and the villages around it. These reward a careful, made-to-measure approach, whether that means lining a period chimney or building a clean, contemporary installation into a modernised room.
Sitting between Wetherby and Leeds, Boston Spa is right in the middle of our patch, so a survey visit is easy and the whole installation is handled and certified by Carl himself. We cover Boston Spa and Thorp Arch, Clifford, Bramham, Walton and Newton Kyme.
Where cleaner-burning or smoke-control questions matter, we specify Ecodesign-ready, energy-efficient stoves where appropriate and explain the rules in our DEFRA and smoke control guide.
Local knowledge
Boston Spa is one of the handsomest villages on our patch: a Georgian High Street of honeyed stone above the Wharfe, with substantial period homes and large modern family houses in the lanes behind. The period stock carries fine original chimneys that reward a correct liner and a fireplace restored to the proportions the room was designed around, stone or brick chamber, handmade beam, hearth cut to fit.
The village sits minutes from our recent work: the Poppy corner stove on its shaped granite hearth in Wetherby is the kind of made-to-measure detail Boston Spa homes ask for, and the same survey-first, samples-at-home approach applies here. Larger modern houses in the village often want the contemporary route instead: a freestanding stove on a clean flue, or a designed media wall in a chimney-free family room.
Being between Wetherby and Leeds means no waiting for us to be in the area, because we already are, most weeks.

Boston Spa questions
Yes, and sympathetically: the opening returned to its designed proportions, the chimney lined and tested, and materials chosen at your home so the stone, hearth and beam sit right with the room. The result should look original, not added.
Regularly. The granite hearth we shaped to follow a patio door line in neighbouring Wetherby is the standard we work to: measured on site, cut to order, fitted exactly.
Freestanding contemporary stoves carry those rooms well, on a clean twin-wall flue where there is no chimney. For chimney-free family rooms a designed media wall with a wide inset fire is the alternative, and we quote both honestly.
Usually within days: the Wharfe valley villages sit in the middle of our regular run between Leeds, Wetherby and York, so we are passing most weeks.
Typical complete fits run £1,800 to £3,000, relines £2,500 to £4,500, with bespoke hearth and chamber work quoted to the design. One written all-in figure after the free survey.
