The finishing touch
Our oak beams are designed to sit above the stove chamber opening and are available in many sizes to suit you and your opening. We have three different styles: Rustic for a more traditional appearance, Classic for a more elegant and finished feel, and Reclaimed, created to give more of an old barn appearance and therefore a more authentic feel.
Whichever style of natural oak beam you choose, it will add the important finishing touch and character associated with a wood burning or multi-fuel stove.
Each beam is handcrafted from solid European oak here in North Yorkshire. The timber is carefully air dried over time to improve stability while preserving its natural grain, knots and unique character. Whether you are updating a traditional fireplace, installing a log burner or designing a contemporary media wall, our oak fireplace beams provide a durable, timeless finishing touch.

Three styles
Our rustic oak beams offer a more traditional feel and come with more splits and character, which is deliberately highlighted during our finishing process. Our most popular size is 1220mm wide by 130mm high by 110mm deep (shelf). We can offer wider, higher and deeper beams to suit your opening and preferred style.
Our Classic range offers a refined, elegant finish that complements both contemporary and traditional interiors. Each beam is carefully crafted to create a clean, timeless appearance while retaining the natural beauty of solid European oak.
Compared to our more rustic styles, Classic beams feature fewer knots, splits and surface imperfections, along with a straighter, square-edge profile. The result is a sophisticated oak beam with a smoother finish that is ideal for modern fireplaces, log burners and media walls. Any oak beam also creates a perfect barrier when mounting a TV above, helping to stop heat rising and entering the TV.
Our Reclaimed range is crafted from the most characterful oak we can source, carefully selected for its naturally aged appearance and rustic charm. Every beam is chosen for the unique features that give reclaimed oak its distinctive appeal.
Large splits, open grain, weathered textures and prominent knots are all celebrated as part of the timber's natural beauty, ensuring no two beams are ever the same. The result is an authentic reclaimed look that brings warmth, heritage and timeless character to fireplaces, log burners and media walls alike.

For an even more distinctive finish, your chosen oak beam can be supplied with matching corbels. These decorative supports add character and architectural detail, creating a traditional, handcrafted look that makes your fireplace a true focal point in the room.

A beam fascia is typically 35mm (one and a half inches) thick and is designed to create the appearance of a traditional structural lintel above a fireplace opening. It provides the authentic look of a solid oak beam while remaining lightweight and easy to install.
Historically, timber beams were commonly used as structural lintels to support the masonry above a fireplace. Modern building regulations no longer permit timber to be used as a structural lintel in new installations, so a beam fascia offers the same timeless look while being fitted purely as a decorative feature. Available in a range of sizes and finishes, our oak beam fascias are handcrafted to complement both traditional fireplaces and contemporary interiors.

We can also supply a complete oak beam surround in your choice of style, whether Classic, Rustic or Reclaimed. A beam surround creates a strong architectural feature, beautifully framing your stove chamber opening and enhancing the character of your space. We can also supply matching oak shelving in a range of sizes and finishes to complement your fireplace beam. Oak shelving is a versatile addition to any room, providing both practical storage and a cohesive design feature. It is the perfect way to tie your fireplace beam into the wider interior, creating a balanced and coordinated look throughout your space.
Oak floating shelves can be installed on most wall types, though the fixing method should always suit the surface they are mounted to. Solid masonry walls give the strongest and most straightforward fixing. For plasterboard walls, specialist fixings may be needed, or the shelf secured directly into timber studs where possible. Shelf depth, wall condition and intended load should always be considered before installation to ensure a safe and secure fit.
